Nope, not very common at all from what I've seen. They often talk about getting a** raped, but that's just an expression they use for getting yelled at or disciplined in some other fassion. Also they use it on subs to make people feel uncomfortable at times. By the way- how do you know you don't like gay sex? Have you ever tried it? Ask any guy that and he's garunteed to squirm a little... very fun to watch a guy wrestle with that question- more fun to keep at him about it.

No it's not true but there are plenty of them. My best friend is gay... I'm not but it's all good he doesn't hit on me or anything. But yeah after I became friends with him I was surprised how many gay peoplpe there are. I'd say it's about the same as the civilian world, though. They say it's one in ten and I'd say that's about right. Also just for your information because it's a dont ask dont tell policy, as long as the gay lifestyle doesn't interfere with work or prejudicial to good order and discipline, it is rarely an issue or dealt with in the military. How can you kick someone out of the navy for being gay when you aren't allowed to ask them or tell them abotu being gay? That person has to get caught suckin dick on the ship or something like that. It really does take a lot.

Nah, some are but NOT all. Sexuality is probably the greatest enemy of the sailor : no women and long periods of seperation from the opposite sex. So that leaves them only three choices:
1) Jerk off
2) Male partner
3) Jump overboard
The first two choices are most common.

'Most' is incorrect.
Sailors - like cowboys and lumber-jacks - used to be cut off from female companionship for long periods. For that reason on-board homosexuality was 'common' - even if illegal. (Ever wonder what the Captain's 'Cabin Boy' was for!?!?)
Nowadays it is not so much of an issue.
But always remember the traditional advice to any young man going on his first cruise:- "Never bend over in the shower to pick up the soap!"
