Most breeders will agree- pumpkin! Cook it and mash it up. You should see improvement almost immediately. It will firm up your cats stool very quickly. If your cat won't eat it then mix it in with their normal food.

Pumpkin is also good for dogs diarrhea and humans!

Do you know what's caused it? If you don't, have you changed the cat's food recently? (You may have changed it too abruptly- you have to do a gradual change) it may also be allergies. If you don't know what caused it and you haven't changed diet recently it would be worth a trip to the vet.

My cat's get diarrhea if I give them canned food or milk. Try a good high quality dry food with an occasional spoonful of canned. I don't know if Pepto Bismol is safe for cats, their systems are much different than ours and it could have an adverse reaction or maybe even be fatal. Call the vet tomorrow if the diarrhea persists. Cats can dehydrate very quickly when they are losing so much fluid. Tonight I would hold off feeding just make sure she has access to fresh water.

Do NOT give PeptoBismal or any other human diarrhea medicine, some of them are actually toxic to cats! Pepto has an aspirin type substance in it that can cause cats to get very sick.

If your cat has diarrhea you need to take a sample of the diarrhea along with your cat to a veterinarian. Your vet can test the sample for parasite eggs and do a physical on your cat to make sure it's healthy and not dehydrated.

Don't try to treat this at home or your cat could suffer for it.

Try to buy a good food that has no cornmeal in it. And if you are giving your cat any type of dairy product stop. because they can only handle it when they are born.
