like with usual houshold items that will not give it any wierd tastes.

You don't. You can use saffron and other spices to put a rich yellow color into various foods. Other natural foods, such as carrots, pomegranates, grapes, mulberries, spinach, beets, parsley and flowers, were also used as food coloring agents, but they all effect the taste.

It all depends on what it's for...
Beets will give you a nice dark pink or reddish colour,
parsley juice will give you a green colour, or spinach juice
strong tea or coffee give a dark cream or light brown colour
for yellow, boil onion skins or use ground turmeric
for red use paprika.
for blue boiled red cabbage or canned blueberries
for orange: beet juice with onion skins.

Evidently, some of these do have a flavor that might slightly modify the taste of whatever dish they are going into... (The strongest flavors being the paprika, red cabbage and turmeric).

All I can say is beets grated and squeezed gives you a reddish color liquid.
