If you are caught with a motorcycle ENDORSEMENT, the bike may be impounded. Then the owner has to go pick it up, and show current insurance AND a D.L.
If you are under 18, it may be possible to lose privileges to obtain a endorsement until after you are 18.
If 18+, I would guess only a fine.
If it has already happened to you...
If it hasn't happened to you, be very respectful to the officer, and if you have been riding for a long time, let them know you have the experience. Once I was in an accident and only had my motorcycle permit. They apparently didn't look at the back of my license to see it did NOT say motorcycle endorsement. I got very lucky on that one. I was the victim, and if it would have been my fault, I am sure it would have been noticed quickly. Remember, respect helps. Those guys like to show people who is boss, and if they feel like they are dominating you, they often times feel happy inside, and will let you off.
I say 'may' and 'if' because I don't live in CT.
