The only Difference between a Medic and your Standard soldiers is that your equipment is slightly different. Obtaining Fire superiority is always the main objective in any mission and it applies to every soldier. Once fire superiority has been achieved, the Medic(s) objective is re-routed to tend to the wounded. Exceptions can be made for Commanding Officers, upon retreat or if commanded to do otherwise by a superior officer/Squad leader.

I was just talking to my god father the other day about this..
He was a sniper in vietnam on two seperate tours of duty in two services. first time in Marines, and the second for hte army.
His exact words were "anyone that gives aid to a wounded soldier in the line of fire is a fu*king hero in my eyes and lots of times you have to hold them back."

TO Redneckmp--------4Q. The Amy Combat medics in my platoon in Vietnam went above & beyond constantly. Maybe the medics you ran into thought you weren't worth saving, with that attitude.

Read the book "Flags Of Our Fatheres"
The movie is good but there is no comparison whatsoever when talking about the depth of the story.
God Bless America, and all of our brave G.I.s

They also attract more than their fair share of flying lead in a combat zone. My buddy got 3 purple hearts in Vietnam, he called them his North Vietnamese sharpshooter ribbons.

But I agree with you, it doesn't matter what you do, but how you do it.
