but am now a respectable person. My ex just was ordered custody of our daughter yet again because my past came into play. He can be abusive, he is non affectionate, he lies about everything, I am definetly not happy with him but I am desperate to be with my daughter. What should I do?

I don't understand, if you are now a respectable person, then how is it your past come into play again? I'm not trying to judge, just understand what you mean, it's hard to answer without that knowledge.
Otherwise I'd have to say that your past must be such that it would be dangerous to the welfare of your daughter, and you don't want her in any danger, perhaps it's best.

Give things time and earn the respect of the law and love your daughter no matter what.....being angry at the ex isnt going to help and takes the time of pleasure with your daughter.. good luck

Go to the courts and see if you can get half half custody or at least some sort of visitation rights
