You need to grow out your toenails and let it grow beyond the tip of your toes. Cut the nail straight across. Believe me, it works. In the meantime, apply vaseline into the groove where the nail cuts into your toes to soften the skin to lessen the pain.

there is two ways to do that. You can soak it with epsom salt and water (about 5 tbs per 4 cups water) every day 2 times a day for 20 minutes each soaking, more won't hurt if that is reasonable. The other option is go to a foot doctor and they will surgically remove it. Usually its a more major case for surgery but if nothing else works then that's what you have to do. I wouldn't suggest cutting part of the toenail then ripping off into where the ingrown is (yeah it sounds as made as it is) When you do that you make yourself 3 times more prone to get it again, its bad on the skin and on the growth pattern of the toenail.
best of luck

I used to get those when I was a kid. Dont peel your toenails off! Clip them! heh. But once you have an ingrown nail, you take a tiny bit of tissue and roll it up tight into a tiny ball and use something like.. hm maybe your fingernail or a wooden match stick and push the tiny bit of tissue just under the corner edge of the nail where its ingrown. It hurts to do that so dont use too much tissue and be careful getting it under the nail. Leave the tissue under the nail, and as the nail grows, tissue will act like a sort of wedge to cause the nail edge to grow more upward rather than further downwards. It will take a few days, and you might have to replace the tissue or add more... but it almost always worked for me. Its WAY better than if you have to go to the doc for it... but if you cant get it to grow out properly this way, youll have to go. goood luck

You need to cut the nail. If you cannot do it properly please see a doctor. A doctor may actually remove quite a bit of toenail by first numbing your toe, and then remove like possibly half of the nail all the way up to the top of your nail so that when it goes back its like only half the original size. Please be careful if cutting your nail on your own as people can die if the nail is improperly cut and gets infected.
