I love color, but it depends on the size of the room also. If it is a small room and you paint it all one color it will make the room look smaller, remember mirrors can make a room look larger too. But you can get away with this if you paint 3 walls white and 1 accent wall the color of your choice. This way the room doesn't look smaller and it will look nice too. Make sure you paint the ceiling a bright white so your eye will be brought up to the light. This will make the room look more linear. I don't believe in rules when it comes to my home. If I like it, I will try it. After all it is just paint and you can always repaint it. You can try by taking color swatches and put them on the wall, in your lighting to see how you think you may like it. Because the lighting in most paint stores is brighter than most homes. So the color may look darker. So enjoy your new makeover!

Paint it a nice sage green and go with golden and burnt orange accents for pillows and curtains. And an off white rug, or one that has a few of your colours in it. Paint the picture frames sage and golden. It'll look really sharp. Put a few cubbies on the wall in a brown wood to keep a few knick knacks. They usually sell them in packs of 3 and they are quite inexpensive.

if you like green, and your furnishings go well with it, go for it.
you may not want a hard green, though, you might look at some of the taupish-greens, they are earthier and an easier sell if you move.

what kind of green? I like dark huntr green if your room is big. (if it is small, it will make it appear even smaller) I am not big on pastel greens...
