You can purchase a cow and an open bidding farm where they may be bidding off cows. Usually, cows are about $500-1000 dollars, at least from what I have heard. It depends on the cow and the location in which you're purchasing the cow. Also, you'll have to have the appropriate living arrangments for the cow, especially a certain amount of acres and so on.

For what??
Milk?? If you plan to butcher it, there isn't much meat on a cow. For beef, you would want a steer, which usually will cost you more depending on quality & condition. You don't want one that is fat or a dairy breed. You will also want to know how to feed it up & be sure you get it vet checked for health. Be sure you have the proper fencing to keep it in & enough room for it to wander around in, with as few hills as possible. Grazing on flat ground will help the meat from getting too tough. Since you do not know what a cow will cost I suggest you do some research on raising one FIRST. Then look into the purchase price for the type of animal you decide to buy. For meat or milk....

Well depends on what you want her for? anything from £600 upwards but here in the uk you can't just go out and buy a cow and bring her home. You need your land to have a holding number cos cows come with passports and the ministry need to know where they are at.There is so much red tape it's unbelievable. If it's for milk they need to get pregnant every year to start lactating, then there's worming them etc.Plus cows are herd animals, they don't like being on their own.

No idea, although I remember reading that during the foot and mouth epademic a few years ago, healthy cows were trading for around 25p. I am guessing that they have increased by now though......
Enjoy the cow!

Could be anything from £500 upwards, depend on age and what you want it for. You should contact local smallholders for advice.

I have heard it all. Are you looking for a laughing cow, if so, go to Tesco and buy a pack of laughing cow cheeses. They do them either in lite or normal. Ask a stupid question and you will get a stupid answer.
