Okay:
1. when you see your son doing inappropriate things tell him not to do them because it is hurting the dog and show him what to do with her, like pet her on the back or pat her head so that way he knows what he can do not just what he cant do.
2. supervise him carefully and dont let him be alone with the dog or the puppys. so you can ensure no one gets hurt
3. Make sure he doesnt rough house or act threatiningly toward the pups when they are born because the mom might get overprotective and could atack your son even though she is a nice dog.
Bottom line is correct him and tell him what he is doing wrong and how it can hurt the dog and puppys. Then tell him what he can do. And make sure you supervise him to prevent any accidents. Also if it is neccassary block off the room that the puppys and the mom will be staying in for the first few weeks so that you dont have to worry about your son mistreating them when you cant supervise him with the dogs.

Your son should NOT be allowed near newborn pups. He also needs to be taught respect for animals. He should NEVER be allowed to be rough. He needs supervision and needs to learn respect. One of these days he's going to find himself bit and the poor dog will end up paying the ultimate price. Take control of your child BEFORE he gets seriously hurt and/or BEFORE he seriopusly hurts or kills your dog.
As harsh as this sounds I feel very sorry for your dog being in a household where a child is allowed to be rough with her and it is a shame this poor girl is pregnant.Breeding is a responsability and this kind of situation is irresponsible. I would venture to guess this dog was not health tested (no not just simple vet exams), evaluated or shown to determine if she meets breed standard and that she doesn't have an impeccable pedigree. I would also venture taht the only reason she was bred was to produce pups and not add back anything to her breed by way of improvement.

You shouldn't let him near the puppies without you or another responsible adult supervising. Even the mother dog, as great as she is, may get a bit defensive with new pups near her, and perhaps bite your boy. While the lesson might be a good one for him to learn, it's not a good lesson for the dog to get away with.
Lots of human contact really should be avoided for a few weeks of the pups' lives anyway. Just watching them should be a good experience for your boy. He can get the idea of how helpless they are.
The stuffed animal idea is a good one. Or you could try the Flour Sack baby like they do in parenting classes. If he can learn how to carry around a flour sack without breaking it open, then he can learn how to carry around a puppy.
But supervision is a MUST. Good luck.

A three year old child has no business anywhere near new born puppys.
So many pups die from abuse suffered at the hands of a nice well meaning shild who did not mean to hurt the puppys.
Do not let your child near the pups unless you are directly watching him and only him and nothing else.
Otherwise you will have problems.
I am sure he would not mean to hurt a pup but could drop one of pick it up by the neck. Kids do not mean to kill them but it happens and they have no business around puppys.

Um...very unusual question. nicely um your son is compared to a puppy dogs that you'll change for yet another. Um in case you had needed a lady that undesirable, then you need to have seen a fertility wellbeing practitioner about that. Plus, a three 12 months previous is clearly whinny, highly at the same time as his/her bladder hurts. And to respond to your question, no there aren't any adoption courses like that. No employ to possess deals or 30 day trial deals both, sorry. Adoption is for putting a baby in a competent loving abode so the youngster grows up mentally bodily and emotionally healthful. in case you do not love your son, then provide him up for adoption. do not problem about yet another baby. finally all toddlers get on their moms and dads nerves for one reason or yet another, so that you'll have a least one problem with any baby you look after. good luck to you and your son.

Tell your son that he HAS to be gentle with the pups. If you have to, be brutally honest and tell him that if he is too rough, that it might hurt or kill the puppies! Good luck.

I love the first answer given. Its the perfect solution. Using a stuffed puppy will teach him how to handle a real puppy.
