Good manners go without saying. Dress appropriately for the occasion, use proper english/spanish or whatever language is spoken in the home. If you are going for dinner take the lady of the house her favorite flowers, but nothing cheezy. This is a personal favorite of mine. Flowers are always a nice touch especially if you take the time to put some effort into it. Happy meeting and Happy Holidays!!!

If you're going to their home, please bring them something small. Be it some cookies /sweets etc. I don't recommend alcohol as you never know how conservative parents can be. Behaviour wise, talk only if you have something meaningful and nice to say. Don't complain or bad mouth anyone else. And always maintain an unassuming manner. All the best :)

Ask the mother what your significant other was like as a child! She will tell you awesome stories, show you embarrassing pictures, the whole bit. Your b/f g/f might not love it, but they will get over it...and she will love you for letting her relive her little darling's childhood!

Don't make out with your significant other when first meeting their parents. I made that mistake, lol.

Be polite and try to show interest in them (their hobbies, jobs, past)... if you find something in common that may help you build a better connection. Be yourself.

When I first met my boyfriends parents, I was VERY nervous because his mom is super sweet and his dad is really smart, but I was sweet, likeable and talkative. It all worked out :-)

Well, you're normally pretty young the first time. They seem to find a cry most acceptable.
