When population expansion places political pressure. It is the nature of peoples to expand or be expanded upon. Once upon a time we had over 100,000 languages and now there a main languages spoken by millions. For the long time Western Civilization was expansionist moving from Greece to Rome to Europe, to America, to the rest of the globe. Islam is another example an expansionist culture either through Birthrates or war. When people don't like this culture, way of life, etc expanding on their lands to use them it results in conflict.
