One day someone special will be gone.
And on that clear, cold morning,
in the warmth of your bedroom,
you might be struck with
the pain of learning that sometimes
there isn't any more. No more hugs,
no more lucky moments to celebrate together,
no more phone calls just to chat,
No more "just one minute."
Sometimes, what we care about the most goes away.
never to return before we can say good-bye,
Say "I Love You." So while we have it . . it's best we love it . . And care for it and fix it when it's broken .
and take good care of it when it's sick.
This is true for marriage .... and friendships ..
And children with bad report cards; And dogs with bad hips; And aging parents and grandparents.
We keep them because they are worth it,
Because we cherish them! Some things we keep --
like a best friend who moved away
or a classmate we grew up with. There are just some things that make us happy, No matter wot

Very nice thoughts. Thank you for sharing. As to your question, it seems quite natural to be afraid. But we Christians must take comfort in 1 Corinthians, which I think contains the message of hope which is the foundation of our faith. It is very pertinent to your question. Learning to live with that message is the most important gift one can give oneself, with the grace of God.

It is good to cherish what you have while you have it, but harmful to wish for it back when it is gone.

Everyone mourns, and that's not a bad things. Mourning helps us recover from the shock of losing someone important to us.

However, we all need to understand and respect the cycle of life. Everything that lives eventually dies. Regardless of what happens after that or not, EVERYTHING that lives will die. Accepting this is one of the healthiest things you can do. I have had loved ones pass away, and it still hurts sometimes when I think about them, because I miss them, and I'd like to see them again because they were important to me. But I also understand that they had to go. Eventually, I will go, and people will mourn over me, too. It is the natural cycle of life.

But do not let someone else's death kill you as well - you are still alive because you still have life to live. LIVE IT!

To answer your question:

I am more afraid of the pain that my passing will inflict upon those I love and who love me. I do not want them to suffer, but I understand that it is part of the healthy grieving process. I cannot change the fact that I will die, so why should I fear something I cannot change anyway? If it must happen, it must happen. I will let it, but I won't go without a fight!

Nobody can answer that until they actually face death but it's wise to prepare while you've got the time! I had my first close encounter just over a year ago, with a prolonged heart attack. As a Christian I considered the prospect of being out of time and into eternity and it was not scarey. I don't see death as an accident, but as an appointment, and the Doctors are there to ensure we don't arrive too early! Clearly, it was not my time to go because I'm still here!

Death is the last enemy, but it's already a defeated foe with the sting taken out of it by Jesus conquering death through his resurrection. Whenever we have to deal with this enemy, it will be a battle, but Christians know Jesus has paid the price for their sin and that a crown of life awaits them in the glory.

I think it is not about if we are christians or not. To be scared about the things that we dont know is in the human beings nature.
Some pple can accept that easier than others bcoz of the faith, but i think that everyone when think about dead get a bit scare.
I personally have to say that yes.........i fear about the unknown, in spite of after the life we can find a paradise.
I believe that is normal and very human .

Yeah..I got this in an email too.

Death is not a wonderful part of life, no matter who you are..it, more often than not, causes much grief..I am not afraid of dying, though I do not long for it..it does frighten me to think of losing those that I love, for a season..because I will see them again in Heaven..but still..it causes pain in ones heart and a feeling of great loss.

I'm looking forward to dieing, but I will do nothing to hasten it. It does mean that I am less afraid to enter dangerous situations and illness is less of a fear. When I have done all God wants me to do here, then I can go home.

No. As long as I am pure of heart, God and fellowmen loving, and repentant of all my sins, I'm not afraid to die. In fact it is the best event in one's life for a soul is truly going home to its Creator's abode where there's no more pain, sufferings or hunger and thirst. It is going home to paradise after your life's Earthly journey.

I am not really scared because we are in a world of death right now. There is really no end. When we go to Heaven we will be alive for eternity. The thing I'm scared of is going to hell.

I'm not afraid of dying, I'm afraid of the pain associated with my eventual demise. I hope I don't fall in a meat grinder or anything like that.
