my cat had the same thing once. we took him to the vet and he gave us a tube of neosporin and told us to put it in his eye twice a day until it got better.

It may be a simple eye infection, distemper, or something of that sort. Discharge from the eyes is one of the first symptoms of distemper. Give your vet a call and ask him if there are any home remedies for it so you don't have to deal out a bunch of cash. Wash the kitten's face and eyes with a warm damp wash cloth every so often. I'm sure it won't be too harmful to you or your child, just wash your hands before and after handle the kitten.

I doubt it will be harmful to you and your unborn baby, however been sure to wash your hands after touching the cat right now. There are several possibilities: his eyelid could be caught, there could be something in his eye, or it could be an infection. I would take him to the vet soon. If there is something wrong and it goes untreated, your cat could lose most or all of his sight, depending on what is wrong.

i can assure you this will not harm your unborn child. i know where your coming from. i use to work w/ stray cats when i was carrying. kinda of scary. you kitten dose have an eye infection. it's best to take it to the vet. for meds.. sometimes this can be from a respiratory infection. cats are prone to colds. all it takes is to get wet & then cold. or even can get it from being handled to much when they are young. hope this helps! :)

You must take her to a Vet. My little poodle had an eye infection that my EX Vet missed and she went blind because of it. She is due for surgery on 12-20. This is nothing to mess with, could be very serious!
