One week-end a month,2 weeks out of a year !! Yea right !, I just got back in Dec 05 after spending 11 months in the sand. So, to answer your question, the NG's have more troops there than the Marines,AF, Navy, and Coast Guard.

Depends on what unit you go to but, yes. When I was in Iraq I used to hear the National Guard guys complaining all the time that they were there.

For sure. When Katrina hit New Orleans, part of the reason the State had trouble responding was because half of their National Guard troops were in Iraq.

Yes...esp. the army national guard. My sister is in the Air National Guard (air force) and even some of them have gone, but she hasn't had to go so far.
