I know, gift questions are annoying.... but.... my nephew's parents are going through a nasty divorce. My library had a used book sale and I got him 40 books on all different topics. I thought I'd clean them up and add stickers "from the library of Danny"... is that a good Christmas gift? Since the books only cost $8 should I give them "just because" instead?

That sounds like a nice tradition to get started..add to his collection each year..Let that be something between him and you.Maybe despite all the media, video games and other tech gadgets out there he will appreciate books.

Ask some family members. It sounds like a terrific gift, in theory. But some families, or kids, can get sniffy about getting something that isn't brand new. Your own family will give you the best feedback about this.
