You are speaking of the Lahiana and Kaanapali Pacific.

This rail line was first used for hauling sugar cane from the fields to the shipping port for export to the US and other places for refining.

Today it runs as a tourist line for a short distance, 12 miles or so, between Lahaina and Kaanapali, on the island of Maui.
