I've recently been interested in a 22 y.o. We've gone out a few times now. The other day she said a couple of her friends say I'm really old...blah, blah, blah. I'm 30. I'm just looking for opinions, but generally, what do you think is the socially acceptable age difference between male and female in a dating situation?

I think it's fine. Once both parties are past 18 I don't have many issues with age differences and 30 and 22 isn't a big deal at all!!

Age is just a number what matter is that you both care for each other when I was 18 I dated a 29 year old man and my husband is five years older then me but that doesn't have a thing to do with our love

Good Luck and God Bless

Not at all. I'm 20 and my boyfriend(soon to be married) is 31. I don't even notice the age difference. I don't think it matters as long as you really like/love each other. Just do what makes yourself happy, not other people!!!

Age is just a number.
When I was 17, I dated a 24 year old.
Who cares what her friends say?
Is she really likes you and you like her, go for it.
It's not like she's underage and you have laws to worry about.
Good luck.

That's not too bad of a gap actually, as long as you dig her for who she is and not out of ego because of her age/appearance.

If she's kewl with it...then good luck to you both.

Its only 8 years its not that bad...you have to understand also that her friends are younger and to them your old...wait till they get your age and someone tell them they are old_

go for it! your age is just a number...it souldn't effect your relationships. don't listen to your friends. if they were really your friends they wouldn't say that stuff.
