My guinea pig has a white "spot" on her eye. It is like her normal discharge but it doesn't go away. She is still eating and drinking, but I think she's sick. She has a sister in the same cage, will my other one get sick?? WHAT CAN I DO?? I want him to get better but I cannot afford to take him to the vet. How can I help him get better??

the best thing to do is seperate them and call the vet and see what to do

Without seeing the guinea pig it is impossible to diagnose what the problem is. You need to take it to the vet for a proper diagnosis. Vet care is something you need to think about any time you have a pet. It is part of being a responsible pet owner.

Are you sure it isn't just a sty? Kind of like a pimple on the eye lid. If its on the eye itself she may be developing a tumor or cataracts. Whatever it is, it is a rodent dear, one you love I am sure....however, unless its a hell of expensive critter its not worth the money to go to the vet.

It sounds like he has a cataract. It's a fuzzy spot in his vision. If that's what it is he isn't sick and can't pass it to the other one.

If she has a discharge, it might be smart to separate them.
