Cover the top with foil, or just fill it more often for them.
Mine wont stop drinking from the toilet, so I count you pretty lucky.

i could say get it. I propose I even have a Cat ( I had her for like 4 or 5 yrs now :O ) I consistently have been given a "real" tree and all she did substitute into pass below it and broke per probability a million...2... decoration's off of it as properly all that , shes nice with it.

I can't keep mine out of my toilet! Even with fresh water out they still want to sip from the toilet bowl. Usually after I flush, the noise attracks them to the water. I guess they like running water! I would suggest putting a cover over your water bowl. You can make one out of cardboard, cut it out like a tree skirt just make it tight against the trunk.

Spray apple bitter around the base of the tree and the edge of the bowl--they HATE it!

I would suggest a cover myself: They can't drink what they can't get to.
