why do people get thrush on the sides of the mouth or white patches?

Thrush is a special type of yeast infection. People get it because: 1. weak immune systems or 2. antibiotics have killed out all the competing bacteria and allowed the yeast cells to take over the sites. I am a form nursing student.

Thrush is a yeast infection -- Candida albicans. This causes white patches no matter where you get it.
