If you mean "strong" as in taste, I would have to say it is. I usually can only tolerate the Breakfast Blend or another "mild" brew. As far as caffeine content though, expresso actually has much less caffeine than brewed coffee. Because in expresso the hot water is steam forced through the much smaller grind particles (expresso grind is "fine") much more quickly than with drip coffee. The amount of caffeine that leaches out of bean has to do with the amount of time it is exposed to the hot water. With expresso, that's not much, therefore caffeine content is less. Drip takes awhile so it has much more caffeine. That's why Italians can drink cappuchino's and other expresso coffees so late at night in the cafe's and still go right home and get a good night's sleep. College students who survive the all-nighters with their small drip coffee makers in their rooms have the right idea if they're needing a high octane brew!

I say go for it and try some starbucks and if you dont like them then don't go there. Just don't be a pretentious asshole like some people are on this thread. Their's and my opinion dont really matter. I would check their ( starbucks) website its very informative about each drink they offer. I hate to be the voice of reason but some people are just snooty shits these day. I like Dunkins coffee as a regular stable cup of joe..but I also like starbucks every once and a while.

Starbucks' coffee is over-roasted, and it tastes burned. It's beyond any French or Italian roast that I have ever drunk. It even makes my stomach queasy, which no other coffee does unless I drink a pot in one sitting.
Despite all Starbucks' claims that it sells gourmet coffee, somebody please explain how an enormous mass-merchandiser like Starbucks is able to obtain such a huge amount of "gourmet" coffee beans to supply their tens of thousands of shops? It's like claiming Wal-Mart sells gourmet potatoes.
Incinerating your coffee beans is a good way to make any beans--good, bad or indifferent--taste about the same.
Just do a web search on the term "Charbucks" and you'll see many people agree that their coffee is like drinking asphalt. No wonder why so many people on here like their Starbucks in a milkshake--frappucino anyone?

I am totally in love with Starbucks, I don't think it is strong, but I love straight espresso, so I'm probably not the person to ask. . .

I think it's too strong and bitter. I do like their 'specialty drinks' though, it's not as noticeable.
