I just noticed today that my pup, she's almost a year old, has thick yellow pee, and bloody urine. I will be making a vet appointment tomorrow, it's sunday now and they are not open. I am assuming this is a bladder infection, anyone have any feedback about this. I am worried.

Your dog does need to see the vet, asap. Hopefully, it will have a simple solution, like a bladder infection. The antibiotics for this are very good. Make sure to notice if your dog is eating and drinking as usual. Your vet will want to know about any changes in your dogs eating, drinking or general habits.

I am not a vet, or a vet tec, just an animal lover who knows a dog who has had 2 operations for kidney stones. It is worrisome, but not usually fatal. Best wishes for your dog!

It may be a bladder infection, or a kidney infection. Either way, the vet's probably going to put her on an antibiotic. See if you can get in tomorrow. (They may make room for you since blood constitutes an emergency in most situations.)

Do you have an emergency or after hours vet clinic in your area? They're really wonderful, our is staffed by vets and techs from several area clinics. Check your yellow pages.

In the meantime, make sure she has plenty of water, and keep an eye on her. If you can get a urine sample, that would probably be very helpful to the vet.

Is it a female? If so, did she come out of heat in the last couple of weeks? Our oldest dog came out of heat about 5 weeks ago, but her "cooter" didnt close up and she got an infected uterus. She was leaking fluid...and we thought it was a bladder infection or something, too.

Turned out to be much worse. She had pyometra which can be deadly in dogs if not treated.

Are you sure is urine? Dogs tend to start their period before they are one year old. If that's not the case please look for a diff rent vet maybe one that is open 24 7. It might be hard but keep your dog very settle until you can reach a vet.

Take her in Monday she is very very sick. She will probably need surgery to remove stones, hopefully she can be cured with acid pills called miethionine.

IF IT LOOKS LIKE YOUR DOG IS IN PAIN TRY TO GET THE SOONEST APPT.
BUT TRY NOT TO WORRY BECAUSE THEY CAN SENSE IT AND THEY'LL GET WORRIED
