Absolutely. I lost almost 40 pounds on an elliptical by working out 30-40 minutes a day, 4-5 days a week. But, you have to be honest with yourself because if you're eating like a fiend, you aren't going to lose weight. Combining diet and exercise is the best way. Once you've dropped a few pound, start light weightlifting as muscle burns more calories than fatty tissue and having muscle on your body will make you burn calories even when you're resting!

I use one 5 times/week at the gym for varying lengths of time (35 - 56 mins). I have been using the elliptical for about a year. In that time, I don't think that I've lost very much. Maybe 5 lbs? I have become much more toned in my legs and shoulders, though. And, I have included other outdoor exercise in my regular routine for longer than I have been using the elliptical. Aside from always trying to improve my diet, I have not changed it in a weight-loss sort of way at all. So, given all of that... I'd say you can lose a little weight with it but it takes a long time if it is your only exercise. Including weight training helps, too.

There are many forms of exercise available that will burn calories. Unfortunately these methods can be costly, time consuming and difficult.

If you loose weight too quickly you will have excess flab that will need to be surgically removed…gradually is key..

24 ounces of grapefruit juice a day (three 8oz glasses).

This will help you loose 4 lbs every 12 weeks...

I have lost weight using this method.

If you are looking for a fast solution this is not it...but it is easy, effective and beneficial in more ways than one. Besides getting lots of vitamin c, you will loose weight gradually, which means you won't have permanent flab to endure or have removed surgically. Also it seems the more G. fruit juice you drink and the lighter you eat the more effective this method becomes.
This information I have obtained through an article in Men’s Health Magazine.

I wrote this next article to a gal on yahoo answers forum in an email:

Basically I just took the article I read in line at the market in Men's Health Magazine for what it was worth...face value..three 8 ounce glasses each day...no matter what kind or when....I can relate some stuff to avoid through experience...the stuff you might find in the can that you have to add water to thats frozen (called pink grapefruit juice)...avoid it...it's very bitter and not paletable at all...the best kind is the stuff in the half gallon carton in the refrigerated section of the supermarket...get Sunnyside Farms if you can...it's ruby red grapefruit juice from concentrate...but it's not too expensive...only about $2.50 a half gallon...some stores like Safeway only sell the squeezed stuff (ruby red as well) and it can get pricey...like $4.50+ a half gallon *shudders*....thats cool in a pinch...but I wouldn't stock up on it...grapefruit juice basically carmatizes your digestive system (makes things right) and supresses appetite in a manner that is beneficial/acceptable to the human condition in my experience/opinion...but that doesn't mean one needs to throw common sense out the window and continue to eat things like burgers etc. in excessive amounts...try to eat lighter...with grapefruit juice you will find this can be accomplished in a comfortable manner...I would suggest to drink as much of the stuff as you can (over 24 ounces per day if you feel comfortable with it)...this is one case where it seems more is better...

you can lose weight with it. it is a cardio trainer so it should get your heart rate up. they tend to work different muscles as your legs move in a different way compared to a treadmill. if you can do more do more but the 30 a day with a low fat diet will get you results.

It is very possible! The more exercise that you undertake the better for loosing weight.

I used one for a while as it was almost zero impact on the joints and a good easy way of getting into exercise.

Good luck.

Depends....do you eat like a horse and sit around on your fat a$$ the other 23 1/2 hours of the day? It's all about lifestyle, not just "can a 30 minute workout help me?"!!

Its definitely possible but you need to watch what you are eating too....

I have a friend who lost 60lbs by using a elliptical and watching what she ate.
