Well........ you can hunt all three species in Texas. However, you won't find any because none of them are indigenous to Texas. There are hunting seasons for black and grizzly bears in other states which have huntable populations of both species. The polar bear is the one exception. These bears are a protected species and are not allowed to be hunted except by Native Americans living in Alaska. Special permits are available to them but not to anyone else. These permits are very limited. I don't know if the Native Americans in Canada are allowed to hunt Polar bears or not.

Yes and no, You can hunt bear and yes there are polar bears in the US but in far northern Alaska not anywhere near Texas. A small number of brown bear are still believed to reside as far south as Texas, but there is only a season for them in the northern states. In most states you must win a lottery for a bear tag, especially for brown bear and especially for polar bear, if tags for them even exist. Polar bears are protected under an international treaty known as the Oslo Agreement, they are threatened but not yet endangered. Usually polar bears are only hunted when they become a problem animal i.e: attack humans.

What? I'm assuming your from Texas. Seriously do you think hear in the US we have polar bears? And no the only place you can legally hunt grizzles is in Alaska were there numbers are still strong enough to have a very strict hunting season. In witch only a few permits are given out. And for black bears, PA is the place to be. Last year was a record breaking season for black bear harvests. No other game animal in the country is hunted more than the great white tailed deer. Still there are more deer related vehicle accident (more than 1 billion worth in deer related accidents every year) and deer dying of CWD than are taken by hunters.

Ok first of all there is no polar bears in texas. Second texas is in the U.S. Your question makes no since but i do know that if you have a hunting license, and the season is in for the animal you want to hunt- provided that animal lives in the area- then you can hunt anything, as long as you have the license. The person whos name is texas and they have a flag as their icon is a ******* moronic idiot and should stop waisting time living. Polar bears live in alaska for christ sakes, damn i hate hearing stupid things come from people. Oh yeah, the person who said grizzly bears are endangered and you cant shoot them if your being attacked, go to hell. Its about time for you to be extinct.

I don't know if there are still grizzlies in Texas, besides at the zoo, so you can't hunt them down there. I suppose if you really want to go to jail, you could go to a zoo and shoot one, but that would be pretty stupid. Same goes for polar bears in Texas. They are only found in zoos, as well. I would imagine there might be black bears over in the Big Piney woods, but I haven't heard of a bear season in Texas. If you really want to hunt bear in Texas, I imagine one of those places that offers those "caged" hunts might have some bears for a person to kill.

Texas does have a short polar bear season in which either sex can be hunted. The season runs from February 30 to the 31st.
