Hey everyone. I am hoping someone has some good suggestions for my problem.

We live in a small 2 BR apartment and need to have our daughter's 5th birthday party in a few weeks. We are trying to figure out where to have it cuz fitting 30 adults and 12 kids into our apartment isn't really an option. We've called restaraunts and banquet halls, but i didn't think it was necessary to spend 400.00 on my child's birthday party. Does anyone have any ideas on what we can do or where we can go that isn't going to cost us an arm and a leg? Please dont say chuckie cheeses or mcdonalds or something dumb like that.

sorry, but the park isn't an option in January in the Chicagoland area.

You can rent out an ice skating rink or roller skating rink for about $60 an hour. We had a party at an ice skating rink once and loved it. We paid for a private party so we had the whole place to ourselves..and even better it wasn't even that expensive. There was tons of room for everyone and the workers all helped the kids get their skates and everything. They even let us go in early and decorate a bit and get the cake set up and all that.

I have been doing some looking around due to the same problem for my childs 4th bday party. I have found that we have a local community center and it is REALLLY inexpensive (about $100 for the day). This one includes a kids play area that has tunnels and climbing walls but usually they just include a big room with a bathroom and a small kitchen. ORRR you might try a bowling alley..usually they can do bumper ball (bowling with bumpers..no gutter balls) for the kids and regular bowling for the adults...most bowling alleys have some food area and a bar plus a room in the back for parties..we had a party there once and it was REALLLY fun for kids and parents..we had prizes for bowling and it was a lot of fun

Does your church allow people to have parties? I know sometimes people can use the gym in my church for free to have a party. Or you can just call churches even if you don't attend and offer them some money for the use of their facilities. My guess is that you will find someone to do it for a whole lot less than $400.

Another idea is does your apartment complex have a clubhouse? Ours does and you can use it for a $25 deposit that you can get back if you don't damage anything.

Hey if you live in an apartment there should be a clubhouse that you could use for like 6 hours I know a lot of apartments that have one and they dont charge anything.

You could either cut your guest list in half or keep your list as is and just serve the cake&icecream. No games-no extra food etc. Would either of these work for You?
