John C. Lilly reported the use of ketamine and LSD to "communicate" with other dimensions. Is this possible, if so are there any guidlines out there?

After the drug suppresses your rational mind, your wild thoughts and random dreams begin to seem to you like real ideas and places. Don't assume that your really experiencing something real.

I'm familiar with John Lilly. Those substances are meant to introduce one to the natural equivalent. The map is not the territory-------Yes it is possible, but the risk of distortion is high.------The movie; Altered States was based on Lilly's experiments.

"The map is not the territory." do you understand "awareness"?

Train the mind, the intellect through meditation to master the nature of self. It is dangerous to use drugs in general especially when you have no awareness of self.
