The area I live in has a ban against Pit Bulls, now I need to find a good home or shelter that will take her. Preferably in Houston.

you should find a onwer on meetup.com
http://apbt.meetup.com/cities/us/tx/houston/
join the group and ask if anyone would be willing to take your baby. this way you know that someone who really loves the breed will take care of him/her.

Houston has a great Humane society.

Pit Bull rescue might take her.

Unfortunatly pits have a very bad reputation, due to dirtbags using them for fighting, protecting their stash houses, and over breeding them. Many cities and countys have banned pits. On a percentage, the numbers are higher and against the pits. Good luck, and I hope yours was well trained and loved.

You could ask your veterinarian. They probably have a client or two who's willing to adopt him. (That's how I got my last two.) Or they may know of a breed specific rescue program (Most of those have no-kill policies) What an awful situation. I really feel for you.

I don't know any partictular ones in Houston, but try your local ASPCA. I'm sure they will provide a loving home for your dog.
