When i was 5 yrs old my parents bought me a german sheperd and it licked me wen it saw me then i hit it becuz i didnt kno wat i was doing. then it didnt hurt me or anything.
I saw this in my baby videos.
Anyways r they aggressive 2 children?
I did sum research and it sed yes but y didnt the got hurt me?
And the dog was new and didnt kno me yet.

They have to be trained properly and early. We had a German Shepherd female and she was absolutely marvellous with the kids, loved them to bits and would defend them if anyone was shouting or aggressive towards them. Some are trained to be aggressive for defence purposes and for jobs like policing etc..
If you have one as a pup then it gets used to kids and does not hurt them. There are many stories where German Shepherds died defending the children of their owners.

This is an extremely arbitrary question It totally depends on the individual dog AND the age and behavior of the "kids" you are speaking of !! This reminds me of an ad for placing a German Sheperd in a new home that ran some time back ---- it read ---- Free to good home -- one very good looking, male German Sheperd --- loves to hunt ---- will eat anything --- Loves children !!!

I'd be interested to see this research you say you found that said they are too aggressive with children, because it's completely untrue.
German Shepperds are among the best family dogs there are. They are intensely loyal to their families, and protective of the members of that family. They are classified in the top 5 smartest breeds of dogs, hence the reason they are normally used for police dogs.
With small children, although they need to be watched of course, like any animal, they are notoriously patience and tolerant. You couldn't ask for a better family dog.

Most dogs with the proper upbringing and good family involvement, can be awesome pets. And German Sheperds are no exception. They are very protective of their loved ones, and are very easily trained. Plus they also have that I can kick some butt look about them. They are loyal, friendly, and great companions. Many dogs will vary in their training and how fast they learn. All I have to say, is that you will get out of your dog, what you put in to it.

German Shepherds are good for main course but kids are best served as a side dish.
Some countries have banned the breed but a lot of the
problem dogs are due to poor training and puppy mills.

I had a Black Lab / German Shepherd mix when I was a little kid. She was the sweetest, most patient dog. I mean, my brother and I threw sand at her, hit her with plastic shovels, every terrible toddler thing you can imagine, and she just took it, and loved us anyway.
I think they can be great. But you kind of need to evaluate the individual dog anyway, because any breed can have a bit of a temper.

all dogs are nice. just german shepards have a reputation for being mean because they are used as police dogs. pit bulls have a reputation because they are bred physicaly for fighting but any dog can be tought to be a sweet lil doggy. a german sheppard is in my opinion a good choice for kids because they are realy nice dogs. the dog realized you wer the alpha and not it so it didint mess with you. it would lick you because it knew you wer the master so it was being respectful. my dog is half sheppard and he is a fu*kin teddy bear he has a hard time hurting his food. and love anyone who will pay attention to him. sheppards are great dogs.

Any dog can be aggressive if they arent treated right.
I always suggest getting a puppy to anyone because they can train them their way.

with the proper love & care, a german shepard should make an awesome pet for a family with kids. i had one as a child and it never bit me once.

they are great wiht kids. very loyal dogs. they will swim with your kids, let them climb on their back. just very layd back dogs. but like any dog, its a dog. it could bite no matter if it knows you or not. it happens. but from what i know and experienced they're great dogs!
