Infrared is simply radiant heat. You use it in ALL cases, even if the heat is generated via microwave, convecting though the bottom of a pan, being heated by element in a conventional of convection oven, there always HAS to be infrared radiation.
It affect food composition like any cooking does: some molecules get broken down, some get coagulated like cake batter or egg.
So, it has to be safe, or else everyone who ever ate cooked food would be affected.

Hi. Yes, it is safe. Infrared is just heat radiation. The food's consistency is altered by ANY cooking, I believe.

When you barbecue over hot coals or use a toaster you are using mostly infrared. It's safe.

So technically any kind of cooking would be infrared cooking.
