I don't know what it is with these dorks that say "don't drink" when what you are asking for is cure to problem you already have. If you didn't drink you wouldn't have a hangover and hence would not need a cure, but that doesn't help you if you already got one.

Phew! OK, got that out of the way, hangovers are cured with water, lots of water and rest. When you have a hangover, your body is in a dehydrated and depleted state, and needs H2O and time to replenish itself. Sleep helps as it speeds up the process. Some people say sports drinks also speed the pace of recovery. This is due to the carbohydrates and electrolytes they contain that speed the delivery of energy and water to your body. Eating also helps, though I would stay away from dairy or fast food. Fruits and Veggies digest more quickly and are softer on your stomach. I prefer bananas myself. In conjunction with nutrition and hydration, a good treatment is aspirin as it thins the blood and allows it to circulate more quickly which in turn can speed the delivery of nutrients and water to your body. Caffeine accelerates you heart and provides a similar effect.

Remember "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" so if you do this before you get a hangover you will be better off. To ends this the way it started, those of you who choose not to drink and feel the need to share with others can keep your opinions to yourselves.

George P is spreading viruses through that site and stealing info. Don't go there.

As for your question, hangovers are caused by dehydration so the only real cure is to make sure you're taking in a lot of water along with the alcohol. When I go out drinking (which actually isn't at all anymore it seems) I always make sure I order my first drink with a tall glass of ice water. I drink the water throughout the night and keep refilling. Any time I'm waiting for a drink, I'm guzzling water.

Drinking water after you've had a lot of alcohol is great advice, but can sometimes be difficult and it's hard to get the water into your system all at once like that. Try doing it throughout the night and you'll probably have better luck. :)

When i get home after drinking a lot and know I have to get up early the next day is take two Aleve, and drink about two glasses of water. When I get up I'll take three Advil and drink more water. I'm usually still dunk at the time since it takes about an hour for every drink, for your body to eliminate the alcohol and i sometimes overdo it. If I'm just hurtin, the "hair of the dog" always works. And if was worried about what all this does a body, well I wouldn't necessarily be drinking. This always works for me. And I'm always raving about Skyy also, just about the purest vodka out there hands down.

I used to drink chocolate milk. Sounds awful, I know, but it does two things: raises your blood sugar level which is signifigantly lowered after drinkly heavily and it coats the stomach. Both will help you feel better. Most hangover receipes involve tomato in some form. Not a good idea - too acidic.
BTW, I haven't had a drink in 23 years and it's pretty decent not drinking, if you ever decide to take that road. I'm not telling you not to drink, just that's it's a pretty good life without the booze.

You've excluded the only sensible answer to your question. I'd say "drink a lot less," but you seem addicted to alcohol, so probably you shouldn't drink at all.

The hangover is a sign that you are drinking so much that it is damaging your body. You don't want to hear it, but the plain truth is that you have an alcohol dependency problem. Try AA - it works for a lot of people. Liver disease is pretty awful. It's better to stop (or ease off if you can, which I doubt) before it goes that far.

The reason you feel like crap is because you don't have enough of the right fluids in your system. You are, in effect, dehydrated. You MUST drink lots of water...more water than the alcohol you drank the previous night for your fluid status to return to normal. That will go a VERY long way to making you feel better.

Want to feel better? Drink AT LEAST 2 Liters of water if you come home drunk. That will help to "flush" the alcohol out of your system and clean your kidneys...return your body to it's relatively normal state. Give it a try...I know it's hard thinking of drinking that much water...but it works.

what always works for me, and i mean i drink like almost every night and go to college the next day without a hangover is:
Have plenty of food, you might not have the energy to cook if your wasted but just think about how nice its going to taste when its cooked.
Eat the food have a glass of water, then get into bed with a bottle of water. because there is nothing worse than waking up in the middle of the night with insane dry-mouth and having to treck to the bathroom/.

Gatorade before bed & when you wake up, or a VIRGIN bloody mary in the morning. Some of my friends also say that a beer in the morning gets rid of the hangover. There is also a pill called Chaser, I think. Don't know if it works or not. Gatorade is my best bet.

1. stay up as long as you can
2. drink lots of water
3. pop a couple of advil before you sleep

another thing i don't encourage, but really helps me (a bit gross, but wanted to throw it in here) - if you can throwup before you go to sleep, then do so. You get a lot of the alcohol out of your system.

i tried checking the web and i found an article on webmd that says there really is not good cure for a hangover (see below).

also found a blog on hangovers and a bunch of websites trying to see "hangover pills" - they sound dubious, i'd stay away...

if you find a good cure, please share!!
