It will be good assuming you wrapped it properly when you froze it. It will likely be freezer burned if you left it in the store wrapper and did not re-wrap it. It will still be safe, but off-tasting if you did not put it in a ziplok type freezer bag or proper freezer wrapping paper. If wrapped properly will last 6 or more months in your freezer if the temperature is zero or below. Most freezing compartments in refrigerators are not real freezers for long term use.
The "use by" date becomes null when you refreeze the product.
Remember this rule when dealing with food. WHEN IN DOUBT, THROW IT OUT.

The steak would eventually go bad even if it has been in the freezer, but not as fast as if it was not. I would say that it should still be good to eat as long as you dont see any bugs on it and you cook it well. Hope this helps.

Meat can be frozen for up to 6 months without losing any quality.
After that the meat is still good but begins to dry out and become freezer burned.

Wrap it up properly to protect it from freezer burn and it will stay OK for quite a while. Use aluminum foil or freezer paper. The first one is much easier to use.

If it was well wrapped it will be fine for a year or more, despite what the books may say. However, if yours is a frost-freefreezer, that means the temp warms up periodically and then drops again. If that's the case, I'd use the meat within 6 months.

I think carcasses can be frozen over a long period of time. It is usually heat which makes the flesh decay much faster.
