you probably singed your hair. just keep washing it. the smell will go away soon, but burnt hair is a REALLY powerful smell and might stick around for a little while

Spray some heat protector over it and when you next curl it, make sure it is done smoothly and not for longer than you need to. Spray it with heat protector spray every time you curl/straighten

do a conditioning traetment which is you put conditioner on your hair and let it sit on it for bought 10 min you can put a cap on your head or you could just let the steam from the shower let it moistion your hair rinse it out and it should be fine.

buy some anti iron hair gel
its not sticky and works well when straightening or curling!

give it a vinegar and water rinse. dont worry, the smell will dissipate (go away) as soon as you are done.
