My boyfriend of 5 years if from buckley's village (if I'm spelling that correctly) and he's been back to visit. He's going to take me with him this next year. I can't wait I've seen pictures he took while he was there and it is beautiful.

I do not know anything about Berkeley village, but my mother is from Antigua. It is a pretty island [it has 365 beaches one for every day of the year] and has quite a British feel to it due to the fact that is a former colony and part of the British Commonwealth..
It can, however, be quite pricey there [ as are most Caribbean Islands aside from perhaps Cuba and the Dominican Republic].. it will be a little cheaper if you are staying with family or friends over there.

Make sure that you take a trip on the Jolly Roger boat which is a type of schooner with a glass bottom. Also visit Shirley Heights.. the highest point in Antigua and Nelson Dockyard where Lord/Admiral? Nelson lived for a time..

If you are going between July and September.. you may catch the carnival which is cool and also Antigua is one of the ports for international yachting.

Enjoy
P.S I don't know about any girl getting killed there but it has very low crime compared to most other Caribbean islands and indeed less crime than most Western countries....
PPS You may find the capital St Johns to be quite run down, but to be honest this is common in most countries. I got back from Mauritius 7 weeks ago and was really surprised by some of the areas I drove through .. same goes for London and most of the world really!!
