If you have a split end or ends on your hair and you continue to split them up the shaft then that means that you can't just trim your hair to get rid of the split ends, as they now are split much higher. It's not a good thing to do. It may be hard, but leave split ends alone and be sure to get your hair trimmed about every 8 wks.

It will cause more split ends, but otherwise, no nothing will happen. I just get my hair cut enough to keep split ends at bay.

It will make your hair look unhealthy and dry. If you want to take care of your hair, get it trimmed when you begin seeing split ends.

What else do you think it should do? Isn't splitting it in half damaging enough?

It causes more damage and pushes the damage higher up the hair shaft.
