I ate before getting mine and im glad i did, you won't be able to eat anything for a while afterwards. Just be sure to brush your teeth well and use mouthwash before you get it done. BTW, mine didnt hurt at all....i just felt pressure as he was pushing the needle through. I just talked like a five year old with a lisp for the next day or two

The only problem you're going to have is with the tongue piercing. It will really hurt, & there is a very strong possibility of infection and chipping your teeth. Eat before - no problem.

yes, I think that you should eat, I have a sister who didn't eat before she got hers done and she starved herself trying to keep the piercing clean, but after wards you get your tongue pierced make sure that you eat lots of ice and talk as much as you can it will bring the swelling down and be sure to clean it out with antiseptic spray and it's good for the pain also

Please do not eat first. Your tongue should be clean. Drink something instead, like V8 infusion drink. The food can turn to bacteria in your tongue. You don't have long to wait. Hang in there.

Do not depend upon answers from people claiming RN especially if they don't allow email. RN's do not necessarily know everything anyway. They are also under law, not allowed to answer questions on this site.

yes, eat all you want to because you're not going to be able to eat for a few days once you get it done.
