That depends on your current weight, height, and activity level. Most people should not go under about 1500, or your body will think it is starving.

The real problem we're all facing is that the foods we consume - even the good ones like veggies- don't have the vitamins and minerals in them that they did 50 years ago. And dieting, in the traditional sense required eating even less of this food. So, what to do? Need to supplement our food intake. There are many brands of food supplements. The one I take is called USANA Health Sciences. It regularly ranks high in any independent evaluations (I won't give you any, because anybody can find some to brag on their own, so you look up some and find the answer). However, it is the only company with vitamins in the PDR (Physicians Desk Reference). What that does is ensure that what it SAYS on the bottle is really IN the bottle.
What I can tell you is that for me, it's working. My energy level is way up, and recovery time from exercise is way down. I've tried several brands of Glucosomine, but only these have helped me.

You shouldn't worry too much about calories.
To be healthy your suppose to consume 2000 calories a day.
Any less and your metabolism will drop.
So when you come off your diet you will just gain all the weight back.

Try exercising more more more more more!!!
Eating right.
Fruit, veggies, salad with minimal dressing.
Grilled foods.
No take out, or fried foods.
Not sugary snack.
3 medium meals a day
or 5 smaller meals a day.
NO SODA.
