It is absolutely normal.
It is not really throwing up, though. Cats lick their fur and swallow hair.
They cannot digest their hair, so they have to get rid of it this way.
That is also why they eat cat grass. The fibres of the grass form a ball with the hair and the cats have to press it out through their mouths. Of course that is accompanied with saliva, and it looks like a foamy vomit.

My cats all throw up at some point. My long haired cats seem to throw up hairballs more often than my 1 short hair. The long haired cats (Maine Coons) are throwing more hair balls this time of year as they have their full coats now (in the Northern Hemisphere, North America), and have MUCH more hair to groom. I brush/comb as much as they will let me just about every day. For some reason, the males seem to have more hairballs than the females - though I don't know why! I have found that a product like petrolax does help to some extent, as long as I use it consistently.
They do throw up on other occasions as well, but not for reasons I can every really tie to anything. If it were frequently the same cat, and the cat were losing weight, I'd be concerned. That hasn't happened yet.

Cats are like anything else that eats,if it doesn't agree with the stomach it comes back up. Alot of times it is because they had trouble coughing up the hairball. If they ate or drank to fast, or ate or drank after runnind & playing it can make them throw up also. Watch the cat for a while to see if it keeps happening take it to the vet to be checked out, this could also be a sign of worms.

Very normal for cats to throw up. Hairballs is the most common cause. Eating too fast also contributes. As long as he/she isn't losing weight and there is no blood in the vomit, should not worry.

It's normal, cats do this alot. Sometimes they have hairballs, sometimes they just eat or drink too much or too fast. If it is excessive and he is losing weight or acting differently I would take him in to the vet. Otherwise, don't worry about it.

Yes, it's normal. You can get hairball remedy at the store to help them pass the hairball out the other end. Or put a little vaseline on the top of his paw. He'll lick it off and it works, as well.

Yes it is normal for cats to get sick from gorging too quickly or from a hairball, or sometimes just like us they get a touch of the stomach flu. Just watch your cats behavoir, is acting the same as usual? see if he still has an appetite, and watch to see if he is using the washroom (Sometimes cats that have urinary tract problems experience nausea) Hope that helps!

Yes, cats will even intentionally eat things that make them vomit as a way of flushing out their system... If he starts doing it in excess then of course be worried... or, if he get dehydrated (fur falling out, dry hacking, not using his litter box) then take him to the vet. Its when they cant keep food/water down that throwing up is a problem.
