Don't have a friend do it, and don't do it thru email; either way it could feel a little awkward between you two then...
Just smile at him, be friendly with him, chat with him about school... It is more fun that way too! He will gradually realize that you like him. It will be more exciting for him to kind of not be 100% sure for a little while! I am older than you and have studied the art of seduction.

if you send a friend it just gives the feeling that you are too scared or immature to do it yourself, not a good relationship starter. . . so tell him yourself the way is up to you. . . email works if you are scared but person is more natural! Good luck and remember it is important to focus on just getting to know a person at first. . . it takes the pressure off things.

just tell him ur self that's always the best way. and do it in person if he likes u back it's a lot easier for him to so he doesn't in an email then in person

whatever u do not write it down! if ur rejected itll make things worse, now he has a record of this!!!!! tell him in person. say "im going 2 the mall this weekend with some friends, do want to come?" it should work.

to fight the embarassment tell him on Aim or yahoo or possibly on the phone, be flirty and sound liek fun, if u act all serious and be like I LIKE YOU with no emotion or flirt than he will think Woahh stockerr!

You need to tell him yourself, in person would be good, but if you can get things out better in an e-mail do it that way.

u kow what I think? I think you should ask one of his close friends if he likes you or not. but you got to trust this guy too. Or just tell him. if you dont you will ask yourself "what if?"
