yes to eggs no to tomatoes. Eggs should be allowed to cool to room tempature before cooking them.
As long as the tomatoes are in a cool dry place they should be fine.

At this time of year the tomatoes can stay out of the fridge. The eggs however should be kept in cold and it will be best if you wash them before storing them. It will prevent the salmonella bugs from getting into other food. Salmonella is always present on the eggshell and you know from which part of the chicken the egg came out. Wash the eggs and keep in the fridge, it will prevent the bugs to multiply.

If you bought the eggs in the market and they were kept in a fridge, then once you get home you should keep then in the fridge as well. Other wise the temperature changes will give a better chance for salmonella bacteria to grow.
As for tomatoes, I buy them on the farmers market most of the time and I keep them in the coolest place in my pantry, the only time that I stored them in the fridge is when they are getting to ripe, this way they keep longer, and if not I make some killer pasta sauce for later on in the week.

In terms of tomatos I don't think that it makes much of a difference. I like to keep mine in the fridge but it's more personal preference than anything else. I guess MAYBE they'll last longer in the fridge but that's just a guess.
Now eggs are a different story. It actually depends upon where in the world you are. Here in the US you HAVE to keep them in the fridge unless they come out of one of your own chickens. Apparantly egg farmers are obligated by the law to wash off eggs (which removes a protective layer called the cuticle). I think that this stays on the egg in other countries (such as in Europe I believe) and the eggs are fine on the counter.
Hope this helps!

Eggs in fridge, tomatoes in either. However, I would add that eggs should also be kept in the fibreboard box they come in, not put in the little plastic thing with 8 holes in one of the shelves in the fridge door.

Remember the salmonella scares Of Edwina Currie? Eggs defo should be kept in the fridge. Tomatoes are a fruit, but a very soft fruit so they too should be refrigerated.

yep, tomatoes should be kept in the fridge, although eggs are not bought from shops in the fridge they do recommend that you put them in the fridge after purchase. Sorry but the Lady is right!

You can keep them either in or out of a fridge. I prefer to keep them both in fridge, as they do stay fresher for longer. But the choice is generally yours. It has been said by some in the past that you should not keep eggs in a fridge, but I don't know why. It hasn't made a difference to me before. Wibble...

Tomatoes bought in the uk are almost always under ripe and tasteless. Best thing to do is keep them out of the fridge so that they get chance to ripen up a bit.
Eggs don't need to ripen, I'd keep them in the fridge.
