It doesn't burn your hands. It freezes it, which feels like a burning sensation. You are essentially damaging the cells in your hand.
You could probably handle it for a few seconds, but I wouldn't recommend doing it for very long.

Ah yea! it will burn a human skin regardless where and don't get it in the eyes or will go blind. It so cold it will create a freezer burn on skin. That is why you should wear gloves and googles when handling Dry Ice.

it almost kill the skin on contact..used for inspection purposes to test in quality control of products and the test was 200* below zero by adding acetone to the dry ice, get real crispy at the level too-don't handle dry ice as if u don't have enough problems already,ice crystals form in your skin and when you flex it is cutting u up with the Sharpe micro edges in the crystals and burns like hell too

Dry ice can burn you if handled long enough. We just messed around with it in physical science about 2 weeks ago. It doesn't burn u if handled for like ,a min

It freezes the skin and kills it. This is perceived as a burn. Yes, dry ice is so cold that it freezes the skin it touches if held in place for too long.

oh yes dry ice will burn the skin right off you, You must use gloves if you getting near Dry Ice

if you hold it for a long time u will get frostbite but if u just touch it for a second or so ul b fine. my sister touches it in 5th grade and she was just fine, she said it was cold but she didnt have frostbite.

it is so cold that it literally freezes your skin. if you throw some in water it will start to bubble. it looks like it is boiling. you should be very careful around it!
