I get them really bad, to the point that they are bleeding. I've tried lotioning regularly, but that doesn't help. Any ideas?

soak your nails and cuticles in olive oil every other day. it's a great moisturizer.

Get a professional manicure. This will start you off right. I find that using manicure oil keeps the cuticles softer than any lotions. And don't bite the hangnails! This makes them rip and even worse. Unfortunately, the cold, dry weather is to blame for the dry skin on your hands. I find that keeping a coat of polish on my nails helps keep the moisture from escaping as bad, so this might keep the hangnail problem from getting so bad again. Good luck!
