Our choices are decided by our memories. I feel that if we can't choose what we remember then a choice is not really being decided by us but by our limitations and extenuating circumstances.

That's circular reasoning for ya! Do you remember what you had for breakfast today? Voila! Free will. Did you choose to come here and post this question? MORE evidence of free will..... (need I go on...)?

Choices are not made entirely by memories.
Some choices are made based on delusions of some future event. Some choices can be based on what is going on at the present moment. It all depends on the situation.

For most people their thoughts shift between memories of what was and ideas / delusions of what may be. Very few actually stop and pay attention to what is going on in this present moment. The attention to the present moment is actually a cheif part of the Buddhist philosophy.

Where freewill is a total delusion is if you buy into the concept of a bible God that is all knowing. To this being our freewill would be an absolute illusion since that being would've known long before we came around ever choice that we would make.

If it is an illusion, it is an extraordinarily good illusion and I'm content to work within that illusion.

If I'm in a box and there is absolutely no way to experience anything outside of that box, then that box is my universe. In that case, it does not matter if there is anything outside the box. If our world is deterministic, we are trapped in that box and it doesn't not matter if it is a box. If we are ruled by determinism, there is no way for us to step outside of that determinism. Therefore, it doesn't really matter what we think of freewill.

Does destiny play into your plan? What about the choices others(ie parents, bosses, elected officials, ect) make for us?

God gave us free will he cant take that away and he cant interfear with our decisions. He can effect things around us as well as our health and when we die. He can narrow our choices down but he cant make them for us.
