Its a waste of time because the way its being conducted is driving the money into the black market instead of away from it.
Not to mention the joke of asking soldiers on a limited budget (equipment) to fight people with unlimited resource.
And on that note can anyone on here tell me that after bombing the yeast an wheat crops in Afghanistan, an it takes six months to grow. Can you tell me you'd stop someone growing a three month cash crop to feed there kids???
We perpetuate it, an where do the drugs go..? the richest nations, we are causing the problem.
When they finally realise how much revunue will be generated, then an only then can the problem be controlled, an it is a problem when you look at the needless suffering, what is it 2.3 million refugees in Colombia caught in the crossfire.
Makes you sick the way they deal with the issue.
You need to have ownership of something if you wish to attempt to control its disstribution.
Americas declaration of indipendance is written on hamp paper,
the sails made in Gaul for the Romans were hemp flax, you can make a cleaner burning fuel than petrol with it, spin it like silk, an industrial lubricant, make a gore tex, Inflamitory used for crash victims, just been found to offset Parkinsons... I could go on. But why bother people aren't ready yet.
Come on now, is this really a war we should be fighting.
Can anyone justify it,
an if some muppet mentions gateway i'll scream.
Please, know the facts before trying to burn this point of view.
Fighting it hasn't worked, ever.
Embrace the situation an deal with it.

I am against drug abuse, but I feel that the War on Drugs, similar to Prohibition, has diverted law enforcement away from real crimes. Too many are in prison for breaking the drug laws.
But as long as the laws are there, I'll use them if necessary, for the benefit of those I care about.

There is no 'War on Drugs'. The DEA, and CIA's role in this phony 'war', is to regulate which cartels get to distribute the drugs, and where. The cartels obey, or are put out of business. Competitors are also put out of business if the DEA/CIA have not ok'd them. For it's trouble, the CIA takes a cut of the cartel's profits, and uses it for operations that Congress will not fund.

A complete waste of time that's only enlarged the problem. Just make it legal. I have no desire to do drugs, but if some people are dumb enough to want to do it, let them. But with this stipulation: if you choose to do drugs, you don't get to complain later on that you can't find a decent job because of it. You make your choices of what rights you wish to exercise and all rights come with responsibilities and all choices have consequences, good or bad.

Well, I don't feel it is going very well. I think it really has to start with the parents of these kids when they are young, before they have started using. I also think the child's reaction depends on how the parent approaches them. If you make them feel like they can talk to you without you accusing them they will come closer to being honest. You can't help them if you don't know what is going on in there lives away from home. Know matter what you think your children have lives away from home, and the worse thing you can do is to be in denial.

That it is useless...As long as there is people, people will be trying to get high...It is a never ending battle and one that is impossible to win (Much like the war on terror) I think too much money is wasted on putting weed smokers/sellers in prison. I think weed should be decriminalized.
