Yes, I've tried it. There's certainly nothing wrong with learning about the religious beliefs of others. Among the best ways to do that are reading their scriptures and attending their services. I'm a Christian, but have been to many non-Christian services. If I want to learn about a different religion, the best way to do it is to go directly to the source, instead of relying on second-hand gossip. After attending services and talking with the practitioners of other religions, I usually find out that all the rumors I've heard about them were quite wrong. Many people talk about other religions without even bothering to research them, and then present their assumptions and fantasies as facts, which seems rather unfair.

Well I have searched for Buddhism . I think that it is necessary for us to try and find the right path in life. It is of the up most importance to see what we must do in life. I would say it is vital to understand different mentalities around the world. We cannot say that there is only one truth the world is huge there are a lot of ways to look at something. For instance if you search for Buddhism you will find another way of looking at Christianity, this religion isn't
very different from Christianity in fact there very close. They have a lot in common like for example the both say we should do only good. However Christianity is not very exact here and doesn't say
the real value of good deeds and what there effect is truly. In my opinion we should know as much as we can about all the different religions in the world and use what ever is good in them to promote our self. Knowledge is power. Nobody should forget that the bible as all the holy texts has been written and passed on by humans and so a lot of it's information has been changed. The only way we can understand some of it's aspects is to understand others. And we should use all of knowledge to figure it out. For example if GOD is only good if he is perfect than he can't hurt anybody or anything in anyway than he can't punish anybody because he's nature makes it impossible. Something that is
goodness it's self can't hurt anything and punishing hurts. So because of this there isn't any hell. Hell is an extension of Lucifer's punishment. In conclusion we punish our self when we commit bad deeds. Every action has reaction. This is the law of karma something that the Buddhists believe. And since there isn't any hell we reincarnate into a certain life for necessary in our spiritual evolution. We must not live in an empty dark room not knowing what's outside. We must explore as much as we can. IT is our duty to try and evolve and it is our nature to question, to answer and to analyze. Not doing so will only decrees our humanity

Do you think any holy book of any religion provides a better explanation and description about God? I don't think so. In every religion God is an almighty, ruthless despot as this is the view humankind imagines any ultimate authority.

Luv what midnight has to say. I am sure he knows nothing about religions, except what he has been told. King James had parts of the Bible changed to fit his needs.

I was raised a Christian, and when 30rs. old, I studied and converted to Judaism. I have spent several years now studying Islam.

Judaism is the faith for me--but, I am glad I do know two other faiths that seem to be a part of my life, too.

I tried reading books from other faiths and I concluded that none of them are true. Religions attack each others causing the truth about all of them to be reviled to those who are not biased towards their original faith.

I think I was one of those people who know for fact that if i was born to different parents of a different faith, I wouldn't be following the same faith as I do now... after all I could have been born before the faith was invented!

Don't do it if you are that kind and don't want to lose your faith

Try reading " The perennial Philosophy" by Aldous Huxley. That will save you from a lot of "other faith"-- poppycock and balderdash..
Saves a lot of wasted time searching for the truth too...
This is a "Must-Read" for Advanced Seekers of Truth...

Christians and Muslims will tell you their book is the only "right" one. Of course this is brainwashed non-sense...But Buddhist's and Taoist's don't claim to be the only right one. It does help to read as much as you can.
