You need time to build your relationship. So the more time together the better. It all depends how much time you both think is suitable for the both of you. If you are both happy with the amount of time you are spending with each other then it should work. But if one of you are unhappy and are not communicating about it then their will be problems in the relationship.

Oh yes it can work, currently me and my wonderful girlfriend live 3 hours apart and only talk on phone and internet at the moment. We met here on yahoo answers and are planning to meet up in the summer holidays, when we meet we will have been together a year and we look forwards to being together. Its been 4 months for us so far and all is great, it can work as long as thats what you both want. Me and my gf both know that we only want to be with each other and we cant wait till we get to be together. For me i only have eyes for her and i've loved her since the very first day we met on yahoo, words cannot describe how i feel and believe me it will work. Absolutely. If you are both commited and have good communication and have all the other aspects of a good relationship, seing each other only on weekends shouldn't be a problem. It may even be good for you both to keep your independence, etc. Hopefully it won't be a permanent situation. Good luck!

If you love each other yes but it doesn't really work.
Relationships like this arouse suspicion and all that which is not healthy for it

Sure if you both work 60-80hrs during the week. If one person doesn't you may have a problem.
