I've been giving him massages but they only help for a short period of time. We have been unable to use the ice/heat method yet. But I was wondering people's opinions of muscle relaxers and other techniques we could try. We're poor college students so doctor/acupuncture therapy stuff is out of the question.. Thank You!

.I used to never be able to sleep from all of the Pain I was having in my back and neck, Until BuySomaWatson. Com. They are the BEST! Tramadol is GREAT for pain! Tramadol is used to relieve moderate to moderately severe pain. It also may be used to treat pain caused by surgery and chronic conditions such as cancer or joint pain. Tramadol works by decreasing the brain's perception and response to pain. It also reduces the size or magnitude of the pain signal passed from one nerve to another. Soma meds is what you need to sleep! Soma is a muscle relaxant used to relieve the pain and stiffness of muscle spasms and discomfort due to strain and sprain. You DO NOT even need a Prior Prescription! Their order process could not be simpler, just select the medicines you need, fill in a medical questionnaire, and submit your order. A U.S Licensed Physicians will review your order and issue your prescription. Next, A U.S. Licensed Pharmacy will dispense, and FedEx your order discreetly using Next day delivery. i hope this helps!

I don't know if his neck pain has been caused by something external or if it is just tension build up or possibly even a pinched nerve(hope not...and if this is the case, must be careful...does the pain radiate down either of his arms or legs???...that would be one clue that it may be a pinched nerve...if this is the case, a doctor visit may be necessary!)...anyhow, the best thing I think you should do is find stretches that work his neck and back too...need to stretch and strengthen the muscles that are affected...and heat is the best therapy I believe - it loosens the muscles and allows them to move more freely.
Make sure he doesn't do activities that may aggravate it more...strengthen first!

One method that is usually very cheap or even can be free may help...It is not very common and relatively new - Bowen Therapy - 'Google' it and find someone in your area that you can call and ask more about. I found a Bowen Practitioner in San Diego and after only one treatment my 'prone to slip out of place' lower back hasn't gone in about 2-1/2 yrs...that's pretty incredible considering that the first time I ever had my lower back slip was when I was nine yrs. old...I'm 34 now!

If you can't use the ice/heat method then try stretching the muscles in the neck. Turn your head to one side and stretch then turn to the other side and stretch. Stretch the neck looking down and then stretch looking up. Do this a couple of times in a row. This can be done anywhere and anytime. This came from a doctor for me.
Try sleeping with a rolled towel under your neck. These are things i have used over the many years with a neck problem. These you can try without expense.

What Icee said. Also, try soaking a hand towel with hot water, wringing that out well, and wrapping that on your boyfriend's neck after you rub on Aspercreme or something similar.

Another thing you can try is start rubbing down on your boyfriend's back then work your way up. And this may sound strange, but try massaging behind his jaw and around his ears.

Good luck!

He may have a brain tumor. He should go to the hospital in the morning and have it checked out by a doctor.
