ancient egyptians worshiped pharaon and they believed in many Gods, they created them ofcourse cause they didnt exist, such as the God of the sun and many more, that was totally wrong.
Jesus or as we say in arabic Eissa (pbuh) is a prophet sent from God as a messenger for specific reasons, like all the other prophets.
there is nothing called "worship a person", to God this is a sin.
only God can be worshiped, we can believe in our prophets and would even die for them but not "worship" they are not Gods, they are just sent from God, each for a reason.
and for the answerer who aksed about Mohamed (pbuh) he is also a prophet, sent to introduce Islam.
Muslims believe in both Jesus and Mohamed (peace be upon them) and all the other prophets.
Many people think that we (Muslims) worship prophet Mohamed pbuh, but the fact is that we dont worship him, we just love him in a way u cant imagine, he means everything to us, but we worship God, just like Prophet Mohamed and Jesus worshiped him.
Jesus was an amazing prophet sent by God, he was a very good person, that we all admire, regardless of our religions, but again he is NOT a GOD.
so jesus didnt say "worship me" simply because he knew he is a person and cant be worshiped, he worshiped God and his message was to tell christians to worship God as well.

So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the gentiles do, in the futility of there thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more. Ephesians 4:17-19

Actually Jesus was God in the form of man. So your wrong there. Also Jesus gives you the choice whether to believe in him or not that's why he didn't say "worship me I'am God" .

John 14:9 Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?
John 20:27-29
27Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."
28Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"
29Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
Jesus never said what?

WEAK.
Christians worship a God who clothed himself in human flesh to battle and win them back unto Himself. Not a man.

somebody can not actually sell there soul to the devil. whether, "merchandising out" completely to worshiping( residing or living out of) any mere ingredient or classification of mere factors of introduction, is what blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, surely rather is. human beings do not sell out to the devil right away. They sell out residing out of basically having concentration on factors of introduction, somewhat than a relationship with The author, or in different words, some form of idolatry.

But God does say that He shall have no other gods before Him.
What does that tell you?
