Never too old to be called a bf or gf. Be young at heart! I would get him his favorite cologne or something he collects, jewelry, a weekend away maybe bed and breakfast place, hmmm sorry, trying to think. Don't really know what he's into so, I hope those suggestions help. Good luck.

Your Q is a little confusing ... you say he is not your bf but only because he's too old? So what is your actual relationship? In any case, www.adcohearing.com has great gifts for deaf people. If he likes to read and enjoys learning about deaf culture, then they have some excellent books on the topic. I suggest just browsing that site, though, because you can find great platonic gifts. If he were more than a friend, I might suggest something more romantic, but try this site for some cool stuff.

Age has nothing to do with whether he's your BF or not, it's in the nature of your relationship, whether there's romance or not.
So, does he have any hobbies or interests? Need a new jacket or sweater? Gift card so he can go pick out something himself?
Does he like watching close-captioned shows on TV, maybe you can get him his favorite show(s) on DVD?
