i need to be able to split the screen up i nkow about windows but is it posible to do that with the windows editor?

If you want split screens then you have to buy a professional program like Adobe Preimere.
Though you could use windows movie maker for free in a complicated way you might be able to do it.
Though you might possibly download Adobe Preimere free from a p2p server for free. Though it will be illegal.

Movie Maker (free, from Windows), Adobe Premiere (paid, but excellent), Ulead DVD, Power Producer, etc
